What are directory listings?

Generally, directory listings are smaller ad blocks sold as part of a seasonal or special edition of a magazine. Examples include Holiday Gift Guides, Woman-Owned Business, or Dining Guides. Unlike a normal ad, directory listings typically entail a photo or logo with corresponding text.

How much do directory listings cost?

Pricing is at the discretion of each publisher; however, it is recommended that you charge no less than $75 and no more than $150 for each listing depending on whether the listing has an image/logo or not.

How do I sell directory listings?

Given their size and price point, we suggest that you utilize the Ad Sales Genius “email campaign” feature to send a templated email out to all your leads and accounts so you can automate the ordering, payment, and artwork collection of each listing.

How do customers purchase listings online?

As long as the customer or lead is entered in Ad Sales Genius and they click the “shop now” link provided in the emails you sent them, they will automatically be directed to the ecommerce store hosted by Ad Sales Genius and see all of the products that are “checkout enabled” - even magazines that are not yours.

In the online store, they can add various ads and sizes, including directory listings, to their shopping cart and “check out” directly in Ad Sales Genius.

<aside> 💡 If you are the “owner” of the account, you will be notified by Ad Sales Genius that Your Customer has completed a transaction online.

If you have a customer that is technically challenged or not otherwise able to complete an online transaction, you can still add their order like any other new contract order in Ad Sales Genius and email them for “signature request”.

How do I get their listing and artwork?

Utilizing Ad Sales Genius, you will do the following:

  1. Go to the Account record tab
  2. Click on the “Missing Artwork” tab on the right hand side of the page. This “copies” the link to your computer’s cache.
  3. Click on your contact’s email address in Ad Sales Genius which will open an email dialogue box to them.
